What the Hell is Von Boogies Garage?

Von Boogies Garage is an independent alternative fringe surf shop in Miami on the Gold Coast — part surf shop, part record store, part art space and somewhere to hang out.

We’re into quality surf gear without all the performance hype. Custom bodyboards, surf mats, handcrafted timber boards, softboards, independent brands, locally made gear, art, collectables, recycled gear and a whole lot of records.

Basically, stuff we like and reckon you might too.

The in-store vibe is pretty simple: wax, neoprene, old surf mags, underground music, local knowledge, weird boards and people actually hanging out again.

VBG is closer in spirit to the old independent surf shops and record stores than modern chain surf retail. Somewhere you can come in, talk story, discover a record you’ve never heard before, check out some odd surf craft, get some advice or just have a look around.

We’re alternative but welcoming, for all abilities and far more interested in having fun than telling you what you shouldbe riding.

There’s a bit of nostalgia in here, but we’re not trying to build a museum. We just reckon surf shops used to have a bit more personality.

Because the only thing we wanna fix in this garage is people’s smiles.
