A genuine piece of Australian surf history — and one from my own collection.

First published in 1983, The History of Surfing is Nat Young's landmark account of surfing's evolution, tracing its origins and development through the people, places, boards and culture that shaped the sport.

This is an original hardcover edition with its dust jacket, personally signed by Nat Young.

This particular copy was bought for me by my mum in the early 1980s from a bookstore where Nat Young was appearing for a book signing. Nat signed the book on the day and I've owned it ever since.

The book remains in very good condition for its age, with some minor age-related wear to the dust jacket as shown in the photographs.
