The result of Page Hamilton multiple musical experiences (including jazz guitar studies and a collaboration with avant-garde composer Glenn Branca) is hard to find in the second Helmet album. But under the surface of a simple alternative metal work hides a jungle of guitar riffs, each one focused on the rhythmic aspect of the music. Hamilton breaks up the sonic flow and generates continue tensions and releases, with an apparent simplicity that make this album fundamentally easy listening. Hamilton’s weapon to express his ideas is named John Stainer. Dry, firm, geometric but also warm and lively, Stainer’s creative drumming style is what really make this album revolutionary and unique.

This limited reissue is long out of print. It was reissued for the 25th anniversary back in 2017. This is brand new & still sealed.
